How We Found Luna: From Scrappy Puppy to Our Little Shadow

Lunas first day in her forever home.

We brought Luna home just before Christmas, and honestly, it still feels a bit unreal how quickly she became such a huge part of our lives.

Before we ever met her in person, we’d already chosen her.

All we had was a video.

In it, she was the smallest of the litter — scrappy, noisy, and absolutely determined to get her share of food. While her brothers and sisters were calmer, Luna was the one pushing in, whining loudly, and making sure she wasn’t forgotten.

That was the moment we knew.

She had fight in her.

And that mattered to us.

Why Luna Was “The One”

We’re surrounded by dogs. Our parents have staffies, and they’re full of energy — hyper, playful, and always on the go. We knew our pup would grow up around them, so we wanted one who could keep up.

Not just physically, but in personality too.

Luna didn’t look like the biggest or strongest in that video.

But she was the loudest.
The most determined.
The one who refused to be pushed aside.

We paid for her before we’d even met her in person.

We just trusted our instinct.

Meeting Her at Five Weeks Old

When we finally went to visit her at around five weeks old, we expected a tiny ball of chaos.

Instead, we met…

A sleepy little bean.

She barely opened her eyes. She was soft, warm, and more interested in napping than anything else. She curled up in our hands like she’d always been there.

It was such a contrast to the video we’d seen.

But somehow, it made us love her even more.

Bringing Her Home

At eight weeks old, it was time.

We picked her up just before Christmas — the best present we could have asked for.

The car journey home was meant to be calm.

It wasn’t.

For an hour and a half, Luna had pure zoomies.
She wriggled, whined, explored, climbed, and refused to settle for more than about thirty seconds at a time.

She was excited.
Overwhelmed.
Curious.
And very, very awake.

By the time we got home, we were exhausted.

By the time she fell asleep that night, we were completely in love.

Our First Week With Luna

That first week was a blur.

There were:

  • Sleepless nights
  • Accidents on the floor
  • Endless play sessions
  • So many cuddles
  • And a lot of learning on both sides

Luna went from being a tiny puppy in someone else’s home to ruling ours in a matter of days.

She followed us everywhere.

If we moved rooms, she moved too.
If we sat down, she climbed on us.
If we lay on the sofa, she found her way into the smallest possible gap.

She wasn’t just a puppy.

She was our puppy.

From Scrappy Fighter to Family

Looking back, it’s funny how accurate that first video turned out to be.

She’s still scrappy.
Still determined.
Still loud when she wants attention.
Still full of personality.

But now she’s also:

  • Loyal
  • Loving
  • Gentle
  • Silly
  • And incredibly affectionate

She keeps up with the bigger dogs.
She stands her ground.
She plays hard and sleeps harder.

And she fits perfectly into our lives.

The Beginning of Our Journey

This is just the start of Luna’s story — and ours with her.

There will be challenges.
There will be chewed shoes.
There will be muddy walks and stubborn moments.

But there will also be memories, adventures, and a lifetime of love.

And we can’t wait to share it all here.

Welcome to life with Luna. 🐾💛
